California Proposition 65

PCB Proposition 65 compliant

California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65), officially known as the Safe Drinking Water & Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65) contains a list of chemicals and exposure thresholds which the State of California has determined present a risk of cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For goods sold to end users in California, Proposition 65 must be respected.

Multi-CB - Prop 65 Position Statement

Multi-CB is a supplier of custom unpopulated printed circuit boards (bare boards) that are not intended as consumer products. Each part is made to order and to the design and material specifications provided by the customer. Multi-CB expects that customers will always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, when handling the parts it manufactures and that Multi-CB PCBs will be fully enclosed prior to end use. Once enclosed, there should be no exposure pathway for Proposition 65 substances used in Multi-CB bare boards under normal or reasonably foreseeable use. Therefore, Multi-CB does not believe that our boards pose an exposure risk through ingestion, inhalation, or absorption through the skin for any of the chemicals listed in the current Prop 65 list, when used as intended. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution and in the event that Multi-CB's products are misused or used in ways that we cannot anticipate, we are making this statement as a precautionary measure.

Since Multi-CB parts are ordered on a customer-specific basis, individual analysis of parts for Proposition 65 substance content is not possible. Multi-CB regularly compares the substances potentially contained in its unpopulated PCBs to the Proposition 65 list. The following listed substances may be present in the surface layer of bare printed circuit boards manufactured by Multi-CB up to a concentration of 0.1 percent by mass (w/w). There is no significant opportunity for exposure or release under normal usage:
