RoHS (3) - Restriction of Hazardous Substances

Printed Circuit Board RoHS compliant

All products supplied by Multi Circuit Boards Ltd. comply with the EU Directives 2011/65/EU - RoHS (2) and (EU) 2015/863 - RoHS (3) on restrictions of hazardous substances.

Multi-CB - RoHS Declaration of Compliance

There is compliance with the following guidelines:

  • 2011/65/EU - RoHS (2)
  • (EU) 2015/863 – RoHS (3)
  • 2000/53/EG - ELV
  • 2002/96/EG - WEEE
  • 1907/2006/EG – REACH / SVHC
  • 2006/122/EG – PFOS
  • 2019/1021/EU - POP

We confirm the non-use of the following substances, in brackets the maximum permissible concentration in homogeneous materials in weight percent:

  • Lead (0,1%)
  • Mercury (0,1%)
  • Cadmium (0,01%)
  • Hexavalent chromium (0,1%)
  • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) (0,1%)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) (0,1%)
  • Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0,1%)
  • Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0,1%)
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0,1%)
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0,1%)

Exception: According to RoHS, lead-containing products (PCB surface HAL SnPb) may only be used if the end product falls under one of the corresponding RoHS exemptions. The obligation for exemption concerns the manufacturer of the end product.

Following RoHS compliant surface finishes are available at Multi-CB:

  • Immersion tin
  • Immersion silver
  • Immersion gold (ENIG)
  • ENEPIG
  • HAL lead-free
  • OSP

If you have previously ordered your PCBs with HAL SnPb (lead tin) surface, you can opt for one of these alternative lead-free surfaces in the future. Standard: Immersion gold or HAL lead-free.

In accordance with the legally regulated exceptions¹, Multi-CB - on special customer request - continues to provide the non-RoHS compliant surface HAL SnPb (lead tin).

When changing the surface of HAL SnPb to an RoHS-compliant alternative, we strongly recommend to mark these re-orders as RoHS compliant, to avoid mix-ups.

¹ Exception clauses permit the continued use of products containing lead in some industrial branches. For this reason, it remains possible to order HAL SnPb surface from Multi-CB.
